Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
What is ADHD?
ADHD can be commonly misunderstood and it can be misdiagnosed as well.
ADHD is often mistaken for the inability to pay attention. A better description would be, wavering attentional abilities. This means that a person with ADHD often experience periods of hyperfocus, as well as periods of unfocused attention.
In general, ADHD has three categories of symptoms including:
-
Inattention, such as trouble paying attention, keeping on task, or staying organized
-
Hyperactivity, including moving around frequently or excessively, feeling restless, or talking excessively
-
Impulsivity, such as interrupting and intruding on others, or having trouble waiting
A person with ADHD may have all or only some of these symptoms. In order to be diagnosed with ADHD, it is best to obtain a diagnostic assessment by a qualified health professional.

Therapy Support for ADHD
We understand that ADHD is more than difficulty focusing — it impacts emotions, relationships, organization, and self-esteem.
Our clinicians work with children, teens, and adults to build real-life strategies for executive functioning, time management, emotional regulation, and follow-through, while also addressing the frustration and burnout that can come from feeling misunderstood.
We focus on strengths, not just symptoms, helping each client better understand how their brain works and create systems that support success at school, work, and home. Whether you’re newly diagnosed or have been navigating ADHD for years, we’re here to provide compassionate, evidence-based support every step of the way.
ADHD Diagnostic Testing
At Lotus Bloom Psychology, our ADHD testing is comprehensive, thoughtful, and designed to give you real clarity and a path forward.
We conduct thorough evaluations that look at attention, executive functioning, learning, memory, and emotional factors to understand the full picture.
Because ADHD symptoms can overlap with anxiety, learning differences, or autism, our assessments are designed to differentiate and identify what’s truly going on. You’ll receive clear answers, practical recommendations, and a roadmap for support at school, work, and home.
Whether you’re seeking testing for your child, teen, or yourself as an adult, our goal is to provide an accurate diagnosis and meaningful next steps that help you move forward with confidence.
